FLY4FREE was a success! DJ Sean Mac, DJ Vic Lloyd and I definitely killed on the 1's and 2's and everyone had a blast. I also tried Hennesy Black for the 1st time and it was awesome. Thank you to everyone who came out and showed us love. The next event is in the works.

So for 2011, I will doing a lot of reflection along with more documentation of life as DJ O-Zone, something like photo journalism. This is a picture that J Dott Trife twittered earlier today when he came to pick a beat he's using on a collabo with GLC & 3-60 Tha Mack. After that session I had a 3 hour conversation about our artistry and how we chose to shape ourselves as a brand. I love having intellectual conversations with artist because they help you learn about that person and about yourself as well #fuckingupdagame

DJ's need to stop crying about the creation of serato! & im entitled to say this because I started DJ'ing before serato was out. So now ya'll are mad because everyone is a DJ?? well guess what, now that means you gotta step your game up even more! thats a bad thing? Im all for new technology, because when you go against it and dont embrace it, that makes you a #oldassgrumpydustynigga. I can give two shits about a $50 DJ, because those that are about QUALITY like I am, will be booking me and not him #yougetwhatyoupayfor. Crying about serato, is like crying about the creation of the digital camera....& we all love them! Photographers dont complain #keepitmovin. #beforeserato I was #fuckingupdagame & #afterserato I still continue to do the same #getithowyoulive. In conclusion...DONT BLAME IT ON SERATO...blame it on your lack of creativity & business/marketing skills

WINDY CITY PRODUCE BEAT BATTLES ARE BACK!!!

Since 2004, Producer/DJ O-Zone has laid the blueprint for beat battles in the city of Chicago by introducing the Windy City Produce Beat Battles. Windy City Produce gave producers a place to showcase their talent and compete amongst other great talented producers to come from the city. Now with the start of a new year, Windy City Produce returns in the same community where it originally started, Humboldt Park. January 28th will be the 1st Windy City Produce Beat Battle of the year which will be a monthly event that will take place at Resist Gallery. Producers interested in signing up must submit 2 of their best beats to windycityproduce@gmail.com. You will be notified via email, if you are selected as one of the 16 producers to compete.
